Salvia together with Ordoñez, Sanchez and Scarfo

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, November 9, 2015 - After a very intensive course, the FeVA-FIVB Argentine Volleyball Regional Development Centre (CDRV) closed its first International Beach Volleyball Referee Course carried out for first ever time in Brazil with a total of 20 participants approving the same.

For Argentina, not only the importance of the growth of the FeVA-FIVB CDRV but also a double happiness as our country will have now three new international Referees, Gabriela Scarfo, Nicolas Ordoñez and Carlos Sanchez.

While participating at the Course, the Director of the CDRV, Lic. Gabriel Salvia, visited the offices of the South American Confederation in Brazil in an invaluable first time that Argentina holds a course in Brazil. There, he met with Marcelo Wrangler, CSV Manager.

After the visit, Salvia also talked with the three Argentine Referees that participated of the course approving it and becoming international beach volleyball referees.

Launching the course, some days ago, on November 2nd, the FeVA-FIVB Argentine Volleyball Regional Development Centre (CDRV) took an incredible and outstanding step in its history opening its first course in Brazil. The same, with participants that want to qualify as International Beach Volleyball Referees was the first ever activity of the CDRV in Brazil.

Twenty participants, as part of the growth of the FIVB-FeVA Centre coming from Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Brazil, Mexico, Spain and Colombia showed the importance of such an international event.

The lectures of the course were Maria Amelia Vilasboas from Brazil as Director; Sandy Steel from Scotland and Jose Casanova from Portugal.

As part of the opening ceremony of this event were outside local authorities and the lecturers, and included Marcelo Wangler as delegate of the South American Volleyball Confederation; Ricardo Trade for the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation, Elzir Martins de Olivera as Course Organizer (also from the CSV) and authorities of the Escuela de Educación Fisica del Ejercito - where the course was hosted.

“We enjoy it as a very special moment because the Development Centre that works in Argentina is fulfilling one of FIVB's goals, to train with a regional mind, allowing the participation of international coaches, cooperating among different volleyball levels that allow the development of our volleyball in a day-by-day basis and therefore we are very proud of going on training and training every day in more places” pointed out CDRV Director, Gabriel Salvia at the opening ceremony.
