Buenos Aires, Argentina. April 10, 2016 – Brazil women’s and Venezuela men’s won the Gold Medal at the CSVP Beach Volleyball South American Tour 6th stop at the 2nd. consecutive stop in Argentina, with the first one being played last weekend in Moron and this one in Vicente Lopez, two nearby towns of Buenos Aires city as part of the “Super Stop”. Duda-Elize and Jose “Tigrito” Gomez-Rolando Hernandez celebrated the new title that puts them nearer the Olympic Games Rio 2016 as all the stops of the year 2016 add points to the Continental and World Ranking.

After eliminating the Paraguayan pair Valiente-Filippo 2-0 (21-19, 21-11), Duda-Elize after winning last weekend Moron final v the local Gallay-Klug in an all Brazilian players, they overcame Victoria-Andressa after they won their semi-finals v the host team of Zonta-Benet 2-1 (24-22, 19-21, 15-11).

In a very aggressive start of the junior Victoria-Andressa that got a five point difference in the first set, Duda-Elize reacted at the final of the set winning it 24-22. Then, playing against the first time of a final match for the Junior pair, Brazil girls won the second without any problems celebrating their second consecutive title in Argentina.

“Our performance in Argentina was outstanding for us. We return home with two titles and very happy because we enjoyed being here playing at great level. Each time we play in Argentina we are very lucky” expressed Elize.

The Bronze Medal on the women’s competition was for the local team Benet-Zonta that obtained a revenge victory over the Paraguayan Valiente-Filippo (that won the Bronze in Moron) in a match with ups and downs 2-1 (16-21, 21-12, 18-16).

At the men’s competition the final was all Venezuelan after Fayola-Golindano overcame the Argentine Aulisi-Aveiro 2-0 (25-23, 21-19) in a very tied match while Tigrito Gomez-Rolando Hernandez eliminated the other Argentine pair Bianchi-Azaad in a tiebreaker 2-1 (21-19, 18-21, 15-10).

The great final was an exciting, tied and battle match with the tie-breaker set finishing with the victory of Gayola-Golindano. The first set score 22-20 showed their best weapons in serving and blocking while the second by the same score was won by Tigrito-hernandez, also with a very hard serving but an aggressive digging. The tie-breaker with an outstanding and amazing serve of Tigrito put the score 8-0 finishing 15-3.

“We thank God for this title. We are very good partners and we never stop fighting. We feel very comfortable in Buenos Aires and we enjoyed each moment in this country. We won because we played with our utmost until the final ball even though we lost the first set. This title makes us very happy” mentioned Jose Gregorio Tigrito Gomez.

The Bronze Medal was won by the Argentine Bianchi-Azaad 2-0 (21-19, 21-17 over the other Argentine pair Aulisi-Aveiro in a “classical” local match.

The “Super Stop” balance for Argentina was very positive as a total of one silver and three bronze medals were won by local teams.

Next stop will be the 7th of the CSVP Beach Volleyball South American Tour taking place in Asunción, Paraguay, next weekend.
