CORDOBA IN AN UNFORGETTABLE U 19 COMPETITION WON BOTH GOLD MEDALS

Cordoba won forget the double gender U 19 National Championship title

Bariloche, Argentina, May 7, 2016 - This Friday finished the first Argentine National Championship for the U 19 grass-root both gender categories and Cordoba surprised everyone winning both Gold Medals. The girls overcame Santa Fe in the final match while the boy's did the same with Metropolitan (Buenos Aires city). Metropolitan (girls´) and Santa Fe (boys') won the Bronze Medals.

During the morning Semi-finals took place with Santa Fe overcoming San Juan to qualify for the final match undefeated while Cordoba played an outstanding match over Metropolitan, also undefeated until then, winning in straight sets. As on the preliminary round Santa Fe and Cordoba would meet again at the final match.

At the boys', two great semi-finals. Santa Fe also undefeated faced Buenos Aires province winning the first set 25-13 but Buenos Aires recovering themselves levelled the series 1-1. At the end Santa Fe showed its utmost winning 3-1. The other semi-final faced as on Thursday, Metropolitan v Cordoba (on the prior match Metro won 3-2).

At the other levels, Rio Negro boys finished on the 9th place while San Juan and Tucuman won their last match for the 7th and 5th places, respectively. Santa Fe overcame the Metropolitan for the Bronze Medal.

On the girls, Formosa finished 9th while Buenos Aires province finished 5th and Mendoza 7th. Metropolitan overcoming San Juan 3-0 won the Bronze Medal.

With all but the titles settled, in front of an important number of volleyball fans, Cordoba girls' won the first set over Santa Fe but their reaction tied the final 1-1 but then Cordoba coming back onto the match got revenge winning 3-1 and celebrated in Bariloche this new title.

At the boys, Cordoba lead most of the time over Buenos Aires province finishing winning in straight sets 25-18, 25-22 and 25-21 closing an outstanding performance having lost an only match in the whole competition.
