Tucuman, Argentina, May 10, 2016 – With a lot of local excitement and an important number of audience and Media, this Tuesday morning took place the official launching of the FIVB Grand Prix 2016 that will take place at Club Deportivo Floresta in the city of San Miguel de Tucuman, June 3rd-5th with the Argentine Seniors’ Women Team, “Las Panteras” as host team of the annual premier women’s national teams organized by the International Volleyball Federation. For third consecutive year, Argentina will host one of the Intercontinental Round weekends.

The presentation to the Media, that took place at the Salon Blanco at Tucuman’s Government House, was attended by the Delegate of the Ente Provincial del Bicentenario, Julio Saguir; of the Tucuman Government, Security and Justice Ministry, Regino Amado; of the President of the Argentine Volleyball Federation, Juan Antonio Gutierrez; the Sport Secretary, Jose Banegas; Turicentro S.A. (President of the promoting enterprise); Carlos Giani and province authorities. Next to them sat the coach of Las Panteras, Guillermo Orduna and the Middle Spiker Emilse “Mimi” Sosa as delegates of the whole light blue – white team.

Julio Saguir, delegate of the Ente Provincial del Bicentenario pointed out: “This event is a privilege for Tucuman people as it opens our doors for the whole country and also, to the World. It will be a huge bridge for those that do not know our province giving them the chance to get to know it and also watch first level volleyball”.

Emilse Sosa, always smiling and with her shyness, confessed “it will be great to play once more at home after obtaining the Olympic Games Rio Qualifier. We will need the energy and cheering of our people to give our utmost”. The FIVB Grand Prix for third consecutive year in Argentina after its two great experiences in Lomas de Zamora (Buenos Aires city nearby) 2014 and Formosa 2015.

“We are very happy of having the chance of being part of the Bicentenary Celebration” expressed Juan Antonio Gutierrez after giving the news that ‘we are going to implement’, together with the University, the first course for Sport Management in the development of a new perspective in what is our game and what means sport in general” he added.

After the official presentation was over, including the personal interviews with the different journalist, Juan Antonio Gutierrez, Guillermo Orduna and “Mimi” Sosa moved to the Floresta Stadium to get to know its facilities with their respective delegations and also to coordinate the needed works to be done prior to the great international event.

Juan Antonio Gutierrez arrived to Tucuman to head the organization of this important international event for the province and the country. After the closing of the official event he talked with the local Media and Tucuman Volleyball authorities, mentioning among others the federative goal of the Argentine Volleyball Federation (three editions in three very far venues of the country) and the plans of the FeVA for the future, not only at national level but also at provinces’ activities.

Three outstanding international volleyball days will be enjoyed and remain in the memories of all Argentine Volleyball fans in Tucuman province.
