Tucuman, Argentina, June 4, 2016 - This Thursday took place the official launching of the World Grand Prix that will take place this weekend in Tucuman with Las Panteras facing Kenya, Dominican Republic and Bulgaria in the first Intercontinental Round of the 2016 edition. The premier women's annual competition for Women's teams organized by the International Volleyball Federation will take place at Floresta Stadium.

The press conference was atended by the local and national media showing great interest as it is the third consecutive year that Argentina organizes one of the preliminar weekends. Also volleyball authorities and the four team coaches were part of the event.

Just after noon, Guillermo Orduna, Las Panteras coach; David Lungaho for Kenya; Ivan Dimitrov for Bulgaria and Marcos Kwiek of the Dominican Republic answered the questions of the journalists just some hours prior to the start of the competition.

The coaches comments were:

Orduna: "This competition is very important for us thinking on the great challenge that the team will face at the Olympic Games". For the light blue - white Team it is the sixth consecutive participation at the World Grand Prix, with the coach adding: "Argentina will do its utmost, we will show that we keep growing day after day and we want to stand among the best teams of the World".

Kwiek: Even though he is Brazilian he coaches the Dominican Republic and he expressed: "We are not ready yet for this competition because many players are injured. We will use the World Grand Prix to concentrate and get our own rhythm and return to our level because we want to fight for the title".

Kenya's new Group 2 team as winner of last season's Group 3 expressed. "For us it is a great challenge, we believe in our team but at the same time we are aware we face outstanding teams, our rivals are very strong. This World Grand Prix will help us to keep growing with the goal of improving our performance match after match".

Dimitrov with the goal of becoming one of the best teams of Group 2 added: "After facing twice Las Panteras one can say wer are very tied teams. Against them it will be a hard match but I hope we can win it".

This Friday at 18.00 action will start when the Dominican Republic faces Bulgaria and then, at 21.00 Argentina will play v Kenya live broadcast by DeporTV.
