Georgina Klug celebrating the qualification for Round 2

Hamburg, Germany, June 10, 2016 - This Friday morning the Argentine Gallay-Klug overcame the strong USA pair Sweat-Fendrick in the First Round of the Smart Major Hamburg FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour - the last competition to qualify directly for the Olympic Games Rio Janeiro 2016 with FIVB's World Ranking - and as their possible rivals for the Olympics lost their first round matches, the pairs of RUS, CHI and VAN, the Argentine pair can celebrate their qualification for Rio finishing 9th after losing with the favourite Brazil Juliana-Lima in a tiebreaker with the third set ending 16-14.

At 10.00 local time in a very hard and tied match Gallay-Klug overcame Sweat-Fendirck 2-1 and stand in the Second Round where they will face this afternoon at 14.00 also another very strong team, the Brazilian favourite Juliana-Lima very motivated with their qualification for Rio.

The match v USA was not easy at all. Ana Gallay-Georgina Klug celebrated in a hard tiebreaker that finished 2-1 (21-17, 17-21, 18-16) and now stand among the best 16 teams of the competition.

This Thursday Ana Gallay-Georgina Klug obtained the qualification for round 1 of the Smart Major Hamburg Beach Volleyball competition, the last one to qualify directly via the Interrnational Volleyball Federation (FIVB) ranking for the Olympic Games Rio de Janeiro 2016 and this Friday they will face Swat-Fendrick [16] USA at 10.00 local time.

The winner of this match [50] will face in round 2 the strong Brazilian Team Juliana-Lima at 14.00 in Round 2.

Gallay-Klug finished yesterday facing Tatyana Maskova-Irina Tsimbalova KAZ overcaming them 2-0 (21-19, 21-15) without any problems ending as runner-up in Pool A with a record of win-loss 2-1. They lost the match v the strong local German pair Ludwig-Walkenhorst.
