The Argentine players and coach celegrating Othe Olympic Qualification in Hamburg

Lausanne, Switzerland, June 14, 2016 - With deadline yesterday, June 13th after the Major FIVB Beach Volleyball competition that took place in Hamburg, Germany, all direct qualifications for the Olympic Games were confirmed with the publication of the final FIVB World Ranking on their website.

In an historical move for Argentine Beach Volleyball, Ana Gallay-Georgina Klug finished among the 15 pairs after overcoming the Chinese pair at the FIVB World ranking and with three teams that stand on top but the quota does not allow them to participate.

Hamburg was the competition where some of the pairs received the confirmation for the Olympic Games, including Argentina, where Gallay-Klug ended 9th, fulfilling their Olympic dream. Their ranking added 4220 points over Wang-Yue (70 points less) and also over Matauatu-Pata and Ukolova-Birlova (700).

Larissa-Talita from Brazil qualified thanks to belonging to the Organizer country while Agatha-Barbara as World Champions 2015 also are of the party. Then, the other 15 pairs qualified as per their FIVB World ranking up to the deadline June 13th.

Gallay-Klug, Gold Medal at the Pan-American Games 2015 in Toronto, obtained great results at the FIVB World Tour, as the fourth place in Maceio and Antalya and the fifth in Fuzhou and Sochi; and the 9th in Hamburg and now their dream became true.
