Rosario, Argentina & Santiago, Chile, June 25 - The Argentine Women's and Men's Teams have no chances to get the Olympic Games Beach Volleyball qualification at the final of the Continental Cup being held in Rosario and Santiago. At the women's competition Julia Benet in Rosario could not recover from her knee injury and therefore Argentina lost again, this time v Venezuela, that after the first match qualified for the Olympic Games. In Santiago, meanwhile at the men's competition, Argentina losing the Golden Set lost all chances to qualify.

In Santiago de Chile the host pair of Salinas-Tobar overcame Pablo Bianchi-Julian Azaad 1-2 (17-21, 18-21, 14-16) and then Marco and Esteban Grimalt gave a new victory to Chile v Mehamed and Capogrosso 0-2 (both sets 13-21).

Then, Capogrosso-Mehamed overcame Salinas-Tobar 2-0 (21-14, 21-17) but Grimalt cousins obtained a 2-0 victory (21-14, 21-15) and a Golden Set was played. Argentina Azaad-Capogrosso while Chile played with the Grimalt cousins won by Chile 15-10.

It is the first time in history that Venezuela qualified its women's team for the Olympic Games, after winning just one match v Argentina and by a merit undefeated record.

The competition changed with Benet injury and Venezuela showing the best level won all their matches v other countries.
