Buenos Aires, Argentina, June 29, 2016 - Las Panteras, the Argentine National Women's Team goes on working towards their main international season goal, their first participation ever at the Olympic Games, this time in Rio de Janeiro, starting next August 6th and meanwhile they face other international competition. The next one that will see the albicelestes showing their utmost is the 15th Pan-American Cup that will take place in Santo Domingo, July 2nd - 10th with the participation of 12 countries in a new qualification tournament for many teams for next year's FIVB premier annual competition for Women's teams, the World Grand Prix.

For the team coached by Guillermo Orduna it will be the last competition prior to the Olympic games and with 14 players the team leaves this evening at midnight towards the Dominican Republic changing places in Panama.

One of the news is the return of the captain, Yamila Nizetich and Orduna also decided to include Antonela Fortuna as libero and Morena Martinez Franchi as wing spiker. Also Leticia Boscacci will be replaced by Carla Castiglione as another of the wing spikers.

Las Panteras are included in Pool B. At the official presentation of the competition, NORCECA President, Cristobal Marte Hoffiz announced that the host Dominican Republic will participate with Puerto Rico, Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela in Pool A while in Pool B, USA, Argentina, Cuba, Peru, Costa Rica and Trinidad & Tobaco will compete round robin, all against all.

The competition will have its preliminary rouSetnd, July 2nd-6th with a rest day on July 7th with the best teams participating first of Quarter-Finals and then will come semi-Finals and the great Final ending the competition July 10th. Both topped teams at the preliminary round will qualify for Semi-Finals while the second and third ranked teams will play for the other semi-final berths. All matches will take place at Ricardo Arias Gym and San Carlos Pavilion.
