FIRST FEVA MASTERVOLEY ARGENTINE CUP STARTED IN SAN JUAN

San Juan, Argentina, Agosto 13, 2016 - With the participation of 49 teams and over 500, started this Friday the first FeVA Argentine MasterVoley Cup organized by the Argentine Volleyball Federation National Secretariat together with the San Juan Volleyball Federation and San Juan University Mastervoley.

The competition started early in the afternoon after the arrival of the teams from all over the country and Chile and the General Technical Meeting. In three venues for the first day and in a sunny spring day eleven provinces and the neighbourhood country of Chile stated playing the first official competition for athletes over 35 years old.

After three hours of competition, the Opening Ceremony took place at El Palomar Complex with the attendance of FeVA Vice-President, Juan Angel Pereyra; FEVA Treasurer and San Juan Volleyball Federation President, Juan Galeote; Ruben Safenreiter, Director in the sport organization; Gabriel Garay, Referee Director; Juan Manuel Escobar, Sport Director of the San Juan National University and Pablo Lueje, Mastervoley FeVA Secretary.

One of the highest moment of the ceremony became the parade of San Juan Volleyball stars. Alejandro Toro was the Ceremony standard-bearer, Candelaria Herrera the Province one and Jorge Elgueta the San Juan Province Sport Secretariat. After listening to the Hymn, Juan angel Pereyra welcomed the participants dedicating some words to emphasize FeVA plans to federate the competition together with Newcome, with the goal that all Argentine volleyball have their own official competitions. He also confirmed a new Mastervoley for April 13th - 17th, 2017 (Holy days)

Closing the ceremony, the San Juan Volleyball University, the San Juan National University and the family of Elio Marinero, former University player and in his honour the Argentine Cup name were awarded.

This Saturday action started at 9.00 to close the preliminary round and see what teams qualify for the Gold, Silver and Bronze San Juan Cup (same format as the grass-root National Championships and Argentine Cups).
