Argentina reaches this final preliminary round match with their fist ever victory at the Olympic Games

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, August 13, 2016 - This Sunday, at 20.30 Las Panteras, the Argentine Seniors Women Team will face Japan in the last Preliminary Round match in a die-live clash after defeating on Friday, in their first ever celebration at the Olympic Games Cameroon 3-2.

Argentina and Japan stand on the fourth place of the pool - both with a record of 1-3 as they lost v Brazil, Russia and Korea but overcame Cameroon and therefore, the team that wins will go on at the Olympic Games Rio 2016 and the loser will go home.

Therefore, this match will be vital as the winner will finish on the fourth ranked place and therefore qualify for the Olympics Quarter-final. Japan was defeated on their debut by Korea 1-3, then defeated Cameroon 3-0 to lose v Brazil and Russia in straight sets, respectively. Argentina won over Cameroon in a tie-breaker and lost v Russia, Brazil and Korea, all 0-3.

Las Panteras, coached by Guillermo Orduna participate for the first ever time in an Olympic Games and their Friday's match after losing 1-2 and at the tie-breaker 10-13, helps their confidence and Sunday evening they will go after their great Olympic dream, not only to participate but to qualify among the best eight teams.
