ARGENTINA WILL FACE COLOMBIA AT THE U 23 MEN'S PAN-AMERICAN CUP SEMI-FINAL

Argentina and Chile still fighting for the World Champ berth

Guanajuato, Mexico, September 9, 2016 - This Friday at 20.00 (Argentine time) the Albiceleste U 23 men's Team will face Colombia at one of the semi-finals of the Pan-American Cup while Chile, the other Continent country fighting for the only berth for next years' World Championship will play v Cuba.

The team coached by Camilo Soto finished the preliminary round as second best top team with only Cuba heading the roster with 3 more points as both teams won their two matches in straight sets. The top team of the Pool was Colombia but as they lost one set in the preliminary round it had to play Quarter-Finals.

Quarter-finals matches took place on Thursday with Colombia overcoming Dominican Republic 3-1 (25-22, 25-22, 18-25, 25-17) while Chile celebrated over the host team of Mexico 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-18).

After finishing these two matches, it was decided that Argentina will face Colombia at 20.00 with the winner not only qualifying for the final match of the competition but also with a great chance of winning the World Championship 2017 berth. Cuba already won the berth for the NORCECA country as it finished among the best four teams (all the other three are South American countries).
