This Wednesday a vital match towards the World Championship 2017 will take place as Argentina and Peru - the two South American teams will face each other at 19.00.

Argentina remained unbeaten in two outings while the Dominican Republic dropped to a 1-1 win-loss mark.

Candelaria Herrera contributed 12 points, including 5 blocks and 3 aces, while Camila Hiruela also finished with 12 points, including four aces in the victory.

Brayelin Martinez and Jineiry Martinez had 16 and 13 points, respectively, in the loss. Natalia Martinez had 9 and Gaila Gonzalez charted eight points for the defeated side.

Guillermo Orduna, Coach of Argentina:“It was a well played match and my team was able to recover from the difficult moments, retake the level and play with calm. For our team is very important to obtain these results in categories like this one.”

Sol Piccolo, Captain of Argentina:“It was a great match from my team and we played with a lot of confidence to beat a big opponent. Now we have to think about Peru.”

Wagner Pacheco, Coach of Dominican Republic:“We lost against a team that came from less to more and their coach did a good study of the match and was able to neutralize my players. But the tournament is still there and our chance of qualifying to the world championship is alive.”

Brayelin Martínez, Captain of Dominican Republic:“When we had the set under control we lost the concentration on many things. Argentina is a good team and took advantage of our failures. However, this is only one loss and we will continue moving forward with the goal on getting the spot in the world championship.
