ARGENTINA'S DEBUT AT THE U 18 PAN AM CUP IN CUBA

La Havana, Cuba, March 29, 2017 - With the first day free at the U 18 Girls' Pan Am Cup today the Argentine Team will make its debut v Chile that overcame Puerto Rico yesterday in a tied match 3-2. Celebrations also for the local team of Cuba, Dominican Rep and Mexico. Argentina v Chile will take place at 19.00.


The Dominican Republic, already qualified to the world championship, cruised past Uruguay in straight sets 3-0 (25-14, 25-9, 25-14) in the second match of opening day at U18 Girls’ Pan American Cup. Madeline Guillen and Yaneirys Rodriguez contributed 13 and 11 points in the lopsided victory.

Mexico got an easy victory in Pool C with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-8, 25-12) win over Guatemala in the opening day of the U18 Girls’ Pan American Cup at Sports Palace. Amaya Guereca witt 13 points for Mexico was the only player in the match with double figures in the scores. Teammate Aurora Zamarripa added 9 in the victory.

Hosts Cuba dominated Costa Rica 3-0 (25-13, 25-7, 25-13) in Pool C to close opening day at the U18 Girls’ Pan American Cup taking place at the Sports Palace of Ciudad Deportiva. Ailama Cesé led three Cuban players with double digits in the scores with 15 points. Elizabeth Vicet and Evilania Martinez each contributed 11 points in the victory. Costa Rica’s Isayana Soto.
