Montreux, Switzerland - The Panthers achieved a major triumph in their absolute debut at the Montreux Volley Masters of Switzerland against the Netherlands in five sets (25-22, 27-25, 14-25, 23-25, 15-9). Yamila Nizetich, Lucia Fresco and Emilce Sosa scored 55 points in the start of the team of Guillermo Orduna in Group B. Nizetich made 21, while Fresco and Sosa 17 each one. Argentina surpassed the Europeans in attack (59-52) and took advantage of Netherlands' mistakes (33 points against 26 of Argentine team).

The Panthers led in the first two sets with authority in attack and blocking, with good starts and tight closures. The Dutchs reacted and managed to stretch the game despite the chances of closing in the fourth set of Argentina, that got recovered from the poor performance of the third partial.

But in the tie break, The Panthers dominated and put conditions (9-6). Captain Yamila Nizetich led from the attack and blocking to close the first historical appearance of the national team in the tournament by 15-9.

On Thursday and Friday the Argentine women's team will play again, always at 21:15 (local time), first against the Chinese Olympic champions and then against the Switzerland. The top two in each group will qualify to the semifinals. All matches are televised at www.laola1.tv
