The Argentine beach volleyball team is preparing for the World Championship, top commitment of the season, which will be played from July, 28 to August, 6 in the city of Vienna, Austria. A female and a male team will play the tournament, after the last set-up stage in Europe.

In the women's branch Argentina will present again its first Olympic pair of its history, composed by Ana Gallay and Virginia Zonta, who disputed the Olympic Games of London 2012 after a historical classification in the Continental Cup of Santa Fe.

While Virginia Zonta is in Greece at the Olympic Academy, twice-Olympic Ana Gallay (London 2012, Rio 2016) will travel on Friday to join the team for two prior tournaments of the World Tour: 5 stars Gstaad in Switzerland and 4 stars Olsztyn in Poland. Then they will play the World Championship.

The last FIVB tournament that Gallay and Zonta played together was the 2013 Corrientes Grand Slam, the first of its kind played in South America. Nevertheless, on April of this 2017 they returned to dispute a South American Circuit tournament in San Fernando de Apure, Venezuela, in which they ended as champions.

In the male branch the representatives will be Nicolas Capogrosso and Julian Azaad, who are already in Europe. There they disputed the classification of Porec, Croatia, and a stage of the Germany Circuit in Kuhlungsborn, besides The Hague in Holland and Moscow in Russia. Together they will have the chance in Gstaad and the Olsztyn qualification.
