This Sunday, a new stage of the 2018 Youth Games Qualifier ended in Cochabamba, Bolivia, and the Argentines Diaz and Gazaba won a deserving third place after defeating Venezuela 2-1. For their part, Paz/Victoria, the women representatives, remained fifth.

Diaz and Gazaba made their debut in the tournament with a 2-0 victory against Peru, and then achieved that same result against Uruguay. The closing of the initial phase was with a great 2-1 against Brazil that deposited them directly in the semifinals.

In that instance they couldn't beat Paraguay (the final champion) and lost 2-0, but then in the third place they said goodbye with a 2-1 win against Venezuela that allowed them to get on the podium.

The girls, for their part, were represented by Paz/Victoria and started their way with a 2-0 win over Uruguay. In their second appearance they battled for three sets to beat Paraguay, but then they could not beat Venezuela (0-2). The closing of the day was with a 0-2 against Ecuador that left them outside of the fight for the title. This Sunday, the farewell went with a 2-0 over Paraguay in the match for the fifth place.
