This Wednesday afternoon in Buenos Aires was held the presentation of the U18 Women's World Championship to be played in the cities of Santa Fe and Rosario from August, 18 to 27th.

The event was held in the House of the Province of Santa Fe located in Buenos Aires, and was attended by the Santa Fe Social Development Minister, Jorge Alvarez; the Santa Fe Sports Development Secretary, Pablo Catan; the National Sports Director, José Maria Garcia Maañon; and the vice president of the Argentine Volleyball Federation, Fabian Bochatay.

In addition, the presentation had players and the coach of the Argentina's U18 Women's National Team, authorities of the Municipality of Rosario's Sports Department, representatives of sports organizations, leaders of the provincial and national volleyball and media.

At the beginning an institutional video was projected regarding the World Cup, to then give the floor to FeVA's Vice President: 'We are proud to present in this emblematic house the U18 Women's World Championship. This challenge was thanks to the decision of the Argentine Volleyball Federation, headed by its President Juan Antonio Gutierrez, and the faith of the Federation of Santa Fe, where we had to créate a structure to work in every area to the organization of the tournament.'

Also, the President of the Organizing Committee emphasized the support received from the National Government: 'It is also essential the assistant of our State, both national through the Sports Secretariat, as well as the Province of Santa Fe and the Municipality of Rosario. They have always been working very close to us with all their team. Every day we have a goal to reach because we will receive the 20 best teams in the world and that is a great challenge.'

At the end, the Secretary of Sports Development of Santa Fe, Pablo Catan, commented: 'This is the result of a joint work between the national, provincial and municipal governments together with sports institutions. This is a place of all Santa Fe people and we thought it was a good place to tell the country what Santa Fe is doing in the sports field. Santa Fe breathes sport and the achievements obtained merit to bring these international events to our province.'

For his part, Minister Jorge Alvarez highlighted the work they are doing to strengthen the sport in the province: 'It is a very important challenge for us to bet on the practice of sport. We are convinced of the joint work between the province, municipalities and sports organizations. Bringing international events of this magnitude is an important way to support them. Undoubtedly if there are athletes who stand out, many more young people will approach to sport, and this is a fundamental tool for social integration' he explained.

Finally, Jose Maria Garcia Maañon spoke on behalf of the National Sports Secretariat: 'We want to congratulate the province of Santa Fe and the sports authorities because it is very important to federalize sports in our country. Taking on this commitment is fundamental and I am sure that with the organizational capacity they have, it will be possible to develop a great international event.'
