This weekend in Ezeiza finished the 1st Sitting Volley Argentine Cup organized by the Metropolitan Federation and the Argentine Volleyball Federation (FeVA), with the support of the National Sports Secretariat. The activity, the first federated in the country, was carried out within the framework of the Program 'Values in Game' powered by the Argentine volleyball.

In the tournament that took place during two days, participated teams from the provinces of Santa Fe (Paravoley Rosario), Tucuman (Paravoley Tucuman), Chaco (A and B, Club Puerto Argentino), Buenos Aires (CIDELI Mar del Plata) and CABA (with a team of players from the North Development Center and Lomas).

In addition to the competition, the National Secretary of Sitting Volley FeVA, Laura Cometto, who had the support of Horacio Gomez and the structure of the FMV and FeVA at the CENADE, made a clinic of bandages for amputees in charge of the kinesiologist Leandro Felix during the stay of the delegations.

Cometto said it was 'a great experience'. Also, she commented: 'There were volleyball, learning, temperament, friendship, competition, always under the international guidelines of the importance of Sitting Volley in World Paravolley. It was an intense weekend because it allowed us to move forward from knowing and diagnosing the activity in the country. It was a very inspiring meeting for everyone'.

The first meeting of the National Secretariat of Sitting Volley FeVA was also held, where the 2018 objectives were agreed and among them the projection to participate in the Parapan American Games of Lima 2019.

Sitting Volley is one of the few Paralympic disciplines in which Argentina has not participated since 1996 and now the focus will be on taking that path again in both male and female branches. On the other hand, it was established as an objective to open Paravoley initiation schools that not only contemplate the recruitment of future players for the competition but also have recreational and completely inclusive activities, adapting the measurements of the pitch and height of the network to the characteristics of the children who join the game.

Another of the projects is to continue with the beginning of the Sitting Beach Volleyball that since last year started to be practiced in Mar del Plata and this summer will try to get to Rosario.

The final results of the competition were the following:

1) Mar del Plata

2) Metropolitan

3) Chaco A

4) Chaco B

5) Paravoley Rosario

6) Paravoley Tucuman
