Brazil won the title in both branches in the Grand Slam in Rosario, the 2nd stage of the South American Beach Volleyball Circuit, played at the Balneario La Florida in the city of Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina. Tainá/Victoria and Alvaro/Saymon were champions in the tournament that had it podium completed with Paraguay and Argentina in the women's branch and Chile and Venezuela in the men's branch.

Taina and Victoria from Brazil won the final to the Paraguayans Valiente/Caballero by 21-9 and 23-21 in a game in which the Brazilians dominated the wind, a key factor for the victory. Paraguay understood the game late and only fought in the second set.

"We are very happy because we won against a very difficult and experienced team. We were able to dominate the climatic conditions. We thank the public and the organization" said the Brazilian Tainá.

"When you face Brazil, you can't be late, and we were late" explained Valiente, referring to the team's game in the first set.

The Argentine debuting team of Ana Gallay and Fernanda Pereyra (first international tournament for her) took the bronze medal against the Colombians Diana and Tatiana in straight sets. "It's very important for us, every improvement implies growth. It was our first tournament and I only have to learn" said Pereyra.

Among the men, the Brazilians Alvaro/Saymon ratified their 6th place in the world ranking with a remarkable game from the start, dominating the wind and pressing with the serve and block. Also, they did an almost perfect side out play. Chile had its chances, but some awesome plays by the Brazilians made the difference, especially in the definition of the first set. The game ended by 21-17 and 21-19.

"I thank the staff and my partner for the great tournament we played together. We faced a great experienced rival but we were able to dominate the game" said Alvaro, the tournament's best player.

"It took time to us to dominate the wind and understand the game. At some points Brazil had a lot of luck to define the plays, but ayway we were able to play at a good level" told Esteban Grimalt.

In the awarding ceremony were present the Mayor of Rosario, Mónica Fein, authorities of sport of the province of Santa Fe (Pablo Catan, Sports Secretary) and the city of Rosario (Adrian Ghiglione, Undersecretary of Recreation and Sports), along with the technical delegate of the South American Volleyball Confederation, Bruno Zubizarreta, the FeVA Vice President and President of the Federation of Santa Fe, Fabian Bochatay, and the President of the Rosario Association, Claudio Verasio.

The tournament moves now to Coquimbo, Chile, for the 3rd Grand Slam Stage, which will again be broadcast for the entire continent on DirecTV.
