Before a crowded Jose Castro Mendez Coliseum, Argentina lost in the final of the 11th South American Games of Cochabamba against Colombia. The Panthers won the silver medal after losing in straight sets with scores by 25-23, 25-19 and 25-21. The Colombian Dayana Segovia was the top scorer with 22 points, while Argentina's Priscilla Bosio and Brenda Graff had 12 each.

The match had a close start, with both teams attacking effectively towards the second timeout. It was precisely there where Colombia improved in blocking and defense and broke the parity for a streak that left Argentina five points behind. Despite the national comeback with good defense and counterattack, the Colombians played with their middle blockers and from the service line closed it 25-23.

The rest of the game found Colombia better, creating a gap from the start in the following two sets and stopping the national attempts throughout the game. Martín López tried with some substitutions that allowed the Panthers to change the rhythm especially in the definition zone of the third set, but the distance was wide and the game was defined by 25-19 and 25-21.
