BUENOS AIRES 2018: BRONZE MEDAL FOR ZELAYETA/AMIEVA IN THE YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES

ARGENTINA IS A BRONZE MEDAL AT THE YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES BUENOS AIRES 2018 ! Mauro Zelayeta and Bautista Amieva beat the Hungarian couple Streli Hajos in straight sets and achieved the dream of being Olympic medalists.

A radiant morning and a full Green Park witnessed the medal of the Argentine boys. The first set was paired, however, the Argentines always maintained a small advantage both on the scoreboard and on the level of the game. On the final, the locals demonstrated forcefulness through an intelligent offensive game and the first partial ended 21-15.

The second set continued with the same way that the game had been showing. A leveled development in which Zelayeta / Amieva little by little made a difference in the score that was impossible to overcome for the Hungarians. The good work in defense, especially through the blocking of Zelayeta made it possible to seal the final 21-15 that gave Argentina the Olympic medal.

In the men's final of Buenos Aires 2018, Ahman/Hellvig of Sweden were crowned Olympic champions after defeating the Holland duo of Groot/Immers by 2-0. While in the morning, in the female branch, the favorites Voronina/Bocharova of Russia reached the gold medal after beating 2-0 to the Italians Claudia/Nicol. The podium was completed by Norwegians Olimstad/Berntsen who won the bronze medal.
