This Saturday the Continental Cup was defined in Asunción and Mar del Plata with Argentina as winner in both branches. In the women's side it was a resounding victory over Paraguay by 3-0, while the men's team beat Colombia 3-1. In this way both teams advanced to the third round where the available quota for the Olympic Games will be defined among four nations.

In Playa Grande and with the presence of the Undersecretary of Sports of the Province of Buenos Aires, Pablo Fuentes, Municipal authorities, of the Municipal Tourism Entity of Mar del Plata, the FeVA President, Juan Antonio Gutierrez, the Honorary President, Alejandro Bolgeri, and national and international sports figures, the first phase of the tournament for the male branch was completed.

The opening was adverse for Argentina, with defeat for Zelayeta/Amieva in hands of Murray/Manjarres by 2-1 (21-17, 16-21, 15-11). However, in the second turn came the recovery with Capogrosso/Azaad beating Paternina/Cabrera with a solid 2-0 (21-8, 21-13) in front of a packed stadium.

In the afternoon, Zelayeta/Amieva went out to the court to obtain the second point and they achieved it after a tough battle against Paternina/Cabrera that was resolved in tie break to leave the qualification close (25-23, 21- 16, 15-10). The definition then was responsibility of Capogrosso/Azaad, that again showed solidity against Murray/Manjarres to be crowned winners after the 2-0 (21-19, 21-15) that put them in the third round.

On the women's side and in Asunción, the morning started with a good win by Gallay/Pereyra against Filippo/Erika 2-0 (21-11, 21-13), that was then improved by Zonta/Churín after defeating the other Paraguayan duo composed by Michelle/Pati by 2-1 (22-20, 11-21, 16-14).

In the afternoon and with the qualification near, again Zonta and Churín were responsible to get it after beating Filippo/Erika in tiebreak with scores by 15-21, 21-16 and 15-12. In this way, they joined the Men's National Team and got their ticket for the third round where the quota available for Tokyo 2020 will be defined.
