This weekend the second stage of the Snow Volleyball World Tour was played in Kronplatz, Italy, under a tough climate. The north of the country was witness of a new podium for the Argentine team composed by Virginia Zonta, Cecilia Peralta, Julieta Puntín and Eugenia Túliz. The girls beat Japan in the match for third place and got the bronze medal again in the competition.

The Argentine team, which was the surprise in Austria, this time again proved to be competitive in Italy in the new modality organized by the FIVB. The national participation began on Saturday in Pool C with a double national victory over the Czech Republic by 2-1 (15-9, 13-15, 15-7) and South Africa by 2-0 (15-8, 25-5). Thus, the girls took the lead in their group.

This Saturday and already in quarterfinals, the girls faced Italy prevailing in tiebreak with scores by 13-15, 15-13 and 15-7. In the semifinals it was the turn to face the United States, who also prevailed 2-1 (12-15, 15-10, 8-15) and would end later with the silver medal after falling to Russia.

Finally, the match for the third place was against Japan. The game started better for Argentina, but the Japanese reacted in the second half and everything was defined in the third tie break of the day for the national team, that ended up celebrating with scores by 15-12, 10-15 and 15-13.

In this way, Argentina closes with two bronze medals, one for each stage, and now it will wait for the landing of the Snow Volleyball in Bariloche from August 1 to 4th.
