On Friday, May 3 at the 17th floor of the Sheraton Mendoza Hotel, the official launching of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) will be held. On May 31 and June 1 and 2 the Aconcagua Arena will host an official international competition for the first time. The Argentine National Team coached by Marcelo Mendez will make its debut in the 2019 season.

The official launching will be attended by the Mendoza Sports Secretary, Federico Chapetta; the President of the Argentine Volleyball Federation. Juan Antonio Gutierrez; the President of the Mendoza Federation. Celia Montaruli; authorities of the Government of Mendoza and the player Agustín Loser, middle blocker of the Argentine National Team and champion with Bolívar Voley in the Argentine League.

The VNL is the most important annual tournament at the national teams level. which came to replace the FIVB World League that was played until 2017. On its second season, the VNL will consist of the preliminary round with five weekends and the final phase, played by the top five qualified teams and the host, the United States.

The first weekend will be in Mendoza with national duels against Portugal. Bulgaria and Canada on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The VNL will be the first challenge of the Argentine agenda that will also include the Pan American Cup, the Pan American Games, the World Olympic Qualification, the South American Championship and the World Cup.
