The Governor of the Province of Río Negro, Alberto Weretilneck, visited the offices of the Argentine Volleyball Federation on Friday and was received by its President Juan Antonio Gutierrez, who together with Sebastian Trappa and German Caressa, directors of Catedral Alta Patagonia, formalized the agreement that will take the 3rd Stage of the Snow Volley World Tour to Cerro Catedral in the city of San Carlos de Bariloche from August, 1 to 4.

As part of a visit that gives great pride to FeVA, the provincial leader together with the heads of the tourist complex CATSA and the FeVA President signed the agreement that will allow the brand new Snow Volley World Tour to reach our country and South America for the first time in its first official season.

It will be a historical event for the volleyball of San Carlos de Bariloche, home of the 2016 Women's Olympic Qualification and of two U21 Men's South American Championships, which also ratifies the strong volleyball tradition of the city and its vocation for organizational excellence.

It will also be a historic event for Argentina. The first Latin American headquarters of the discipline joins the first Grand Slam of the Beach Volleyball World Tour in South America, back in 2013, in Corrientes, as founding events.

The World Tour, which had its first two stages in Europe (Wagrain, Austria and Kronplatz, Italy), will now stop at the Cerro Catedral for its third stage. On the previous stops, a total of 21 countries participated, representing the five continents, in a real party with full stadium and high tourist impact.

Weretilnek said: "We are very happy because Argentina will be the first venue for a tournament that will have its first stage in South America. We want to thank again to FeVA, that trusts again in Rio Negro. We already have 3 international events together and now we will have in our Cerro Catedral the snow volleyball in the first week of August".

"For the Argentine volleyball, it is a pride to be at the forefront of the world with this organization. When we presented Bariloche as a candidate, European cities withdrew their applications due to the characteristics of our resort. It will be a real party" said Juan Antonio Gutierrez.
