The Executive Committee of the South American Volleyball Confederation officially confirmed the two Continental Olympic Qualifiers venues that will be held in January: Colombia will host the women's tournament in which Las Panteras will play, while Chile will organize the men's qualifier.

In a meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Executive Committee evaluated three proposals in the female branch, including those from Argentina, Peru and Colombia. Both the President of the CSV, Rafael Lloreda (Colombia), and the President of the Argentine Volleyball Federation and 4th Vice President, Juan Antonio Gutiérrez (Argentina), abstained in the vote, because they were interested parties.

The remaining members of the Committee voted unanimously for Colombia, National Team that is behind Brazil in the South American ranking and that showed great conditions for the organization of such an important event as Argentina and Peru.

It will be the first opportunity for Colombia in hosting such an important event. In 2013 they organized the World Championship Qualifier on the way to Poland 2014, in the men's branch.

Chile, meanwhile, was the only proposal for the Men's tournament, which will be historic because it will qualify the 3rd South American men's representative to the Olympic Games for the first time in history.
