SNOW VOLLEY: THE WORLD TOUR WILL BE BACK IN CERRO CATEDRAL IN 2020

During the International Volleyball Federation Council’s meeting held in Lausanne, Switzerland, the 2020 Snow Volleyball World Tour was confirmed and also the arrival of one of its stages to Argentina. After the success obtained in August, FeVA and the Government of Rio Negro confirmed again Cerro Catedral as the venue for next year.

“As a result of the work done this year in Bariloche with the support of the Government of Río Negro, its Governor Alberto Weretilneck and the elected Governor Arabela Carreras, the FIVB will bring the World Tour back to Argentina in 2020. It will be from August 23 to 26 in Cerro Catedral with the support of Hub Travel, our promoter, of Metro World Digital, our marketer, and of course the people of Cerro Catedral and the province” said FeVA President Juan Antonio Gutierrez.

“It is very important that the event in South America, which was held in our country, was qualified as one of the best ones, with an international exhibition that makes us proud as much as the results of our players. Our teams in both genders had incredible success, much more than expected, and we are convinced that Snow Volleyball is a new sport that will soon be Olympic” continued Gutierrez.

The Snow Volleyball arrived for the first time to the American continent and the southern hemisphere during August 2019 in a historical event that had action for three days in four courts. With the participation of 24 teams representing 15 nations, the tournament ended with great results for the Argentine delegation, which got 4 medals: a gold and a bronze in the men's side, and a silver and a bronze for the female participants.

Regarding the historic event, the FeVA President added: “Our country decided to carry out this worldwide competition in an incredible way with the support of the FIVB, the Government of Río Negro and all the people who have collaborated. In this opportunity, many companies are going to accompany us as it is a very important event that will be broadcasted around the world and in which we will soon begin working with our team”.

Undoubtedly, Rio Negro is one of the provinces that has organized the largest number of events in recent years, with active participation in indoor volleyball, beach and snow volleyball. The joint work with the provincial government was one of the keys to achieve it: “It is a pride to work with the Government of Río Negro because they have a very important development in sports in general and particularly in volleyball. We are very happy and both Weretilneck and Carreras were very happy and congratulated all the people who made it possible to have the Snow Volleyball in Bariloche again” concluded Gutierrez.
